Get Your Screenings!

Since one in 5 teens have an unhealthy cholesterol reading, and around 93 million Americans over the age of 20 have high cholesterol, it's important for you to get your screenings early and regularly.

Cholesterol should be checked starting early in life—even children and adolescents should have their cholesterol checked.

Cholesterol screenings should be done:

  • Every 5 years for people age 20+ who are at low risk for cardiovascular disease.

  • More frequently than every 5 years for people with cardiovascular disease risk factors. Follow your doctor's schedule.
